Distributor of the UNIOR brand
UNIOR is the successor to the rich blacksmithing tradition in the Pohorje region and north-eastern Slovenia. In the 19th century, several industrial forges were established in Pohorje. They were used to make agricultural and craft tools. Their work was related to four ironworks in this area.
The first factory for forged tools was established at the beginning of the 20th century, in 1919. Engineers Mirko Bremec and Walter Mach founded the Styria Iron-Industrial Company in Zreč, where the Unior company is still based today. The company was then a modern factory and produced forged tools for agriculture, mining and crafts.
In 1947, after renovation and completion of construction, the name of the forge was changed to the Zreče Forged Tools Factory. In the second half of the 20th century, the factory developed mainly through investments in the production of hand tools. Focused mainly on the development of universal tools, the factory’s name was changed in 1974; it became known as Unior, the Zreče Forged Tool Factory.
Nowadays, UNIOR is one of the world’s largest representatives of the metal processing industry. The company develops its success thanks to excellent synergies and three production segments (hand tools, forged and sintered elements and special machines) that provide the company with a balanced portfolio of activities.
